The Ska Vengers unleash a beehive of activity this month

Contrary to outward appearances, the Ska Vengers have not been kicking up their heels and taking it easy. The band has been caught up in a storm of activities, all of which are set to become apparent this month. First off, the ‘Vengers have tied up with Times Music for the launch of their self-titled debut album. “There are going to be 11 tracks on the album and we will begin the recording of our next one in September,” says SV keyboard player, Stefan Kaye.
The band has also two major gigs lined up towards the end of the month. “They are big gigs,” says Stefan. “These gigs will be monthly affairs produced by Stiff Kittens Inc. and they will be called Ska! Ska! Ska!” reveals Kaye. The first one gets underway at the Blue Frog in Mumbai on 27th July 2012 and it will feature Blek doing a ska set, Bombay Bassment, Bay Beat Collective and the Ska Vengers, of course. A day later, the Blue Frog in Delhi will witness the Gandu Circus, Reggae Rajahs, BASSFoundation Roots (Delhi Sultanate’s Sound System) and the Ska Vengers pumping up the groove. “Live dance music is still a bit underrepresented in India,” says Stefan. “We are putting in all our efforts to put it up on the map.”
Further on, the Ska Vengers will pack their bags and set off for a full-blown tour of the North East in September.
